What to expect?

Workshop Objectives and Learning Activities:

• Week 1: “Truth and Philosophy” and “Technology and Information
• Week 2: “Science, Bias and Evidence” and “Indigenous Knowledge”
• Week 3: “Media Persuasion” and “Authority”
• Week 4: “Science and Fact Checking” and “Science and Politics”
• Week 5: “Introduction to Animation”, Learning and installing the software
• Week 6: 'Animation Techniques' learn paper, puppet and 3-D animation
• Week 7: 'Storyboarding' making your own gif, meme or cartoon!
• Week 8: Finishing final animation project, share and educate your community on the dangers of spreading online disinformation!

What to bring?

For technology, Youth Content Creators will need access to:

• A computer or device with a camera that can point toward the floor
• The internet
• Zoom software
• Stop-motion animation software
• Note: Free computers are available from the Calgary Library by signing up for a Library Card, and booking a Chrome Book.
